Cher Monsieur
J'en suis à me demander si ce petit mot en réponse à
votre lettre vous parviendra, et dans quel Newport vous demeurez. Enfin,
je vous écris tout de même, et vous recommande le nouveau
roman le Sphinx des Glaces, dont le premier volume vient de paraître.
J'ai pris pour base un roman d'Edgard Poe, et j'ai dédié
cet ouvrage à la mémoire de votre grand poète et aussi
à mes amis d'Amérique.
Je pense que je peux vous compter parmi eux, et je me dis
