The 15 volume set of the Works of Jules Verne was published by Vincent Parke and Company in EIGHT 'Limited editions' ....... ( 2 other companies also published the Works of Jules Verne, and they are listed below as well )
The Vincent Parke set contains 36 stories and short stories, 44 illustrations and a portrait of Jules Verne.
( See Below for a listing of
titles and illustrations ) The size of each
book is approx. 6 1/2" x 9 1/2"
The books do NOT have a date on the Title page but do
have the "copyright" date shown as 1911 on the back of the title
page. Here is a brief summary of the sets that are known:
As I study the various sets, I find that each set can come in different bindings.
I think it was also possible to order custom bindings which means that there are many "Unique" bindings out there.

Edition Magnifique
Limited Set by Vincent Parke and Company: |
|
Edition Name |
Edition Magnifique |
Date: |
copyright 1911 |
Number of sets in the Series |
26 sets Lettered from A - Z |
Binding |
Set noted in Blue (with blue spines) and in Full Green Morocco Leather
Title stamped in
gilt on spine
Leather on the inside of the covers tooled with Iris pattern,
and satin moire endpapers.
It is under debate whether the spines are faded to the tan colour from sun exposure, or bound that way. It would seem to make sense that they have faded, but it is a nice consistent colour between all the volumes!

is limited to twenty-six lettered

by Vincent Parke and Company: The details of this edition are unclear. I have talked to the owner of this set, and there is no certificate in the first volume! The set is bound exquisitly in leather and rivals the "Edition Magnifique"!
(see images below)
Sadly, this set is missing 1 volume, and thus contains only 14 volumes! |
