Book Collecting Information:
The title(s) of this story can be confusing. This Jules Verne story is based on a short story written by his son Michel which was called In the Year 2889, and which was published first (yes in English) in The Forum, New York, 1889.
Jules Verne then used it as the basis for his story, which he titled La journée d'un journaliste américain en 2890. The title had been changed so that the publication date would be 1000 years earlier than the title of the book. The story also appears as La journée d'un journaliste américain en 2889
